You may remember that I wrote about Marcia's Scrappy Quilt Challenge on January 6th. I showed you the scraps I planned to use.
Now it is time to see the finished top.
I love it. My daughter said, "That's a great quilt! Some little child is going to love that." Two minutes later she burst my bubble saying, "Do you realize that none of those blocks are the same?" I tried explaining about using the pattern from the Scrappy Challenge, but she wasn't buying it. She decided that she prefers quilts that use the same blocks throughout. Boring!
I didn't cut into any yardage for this quilt. The strips for the borders were cut for another quilt and misplaced. There they were waiting in the fabric closet. At 33 x 41, this will be a good donation quilt for a small child. Thanks Marcia. Whether I win the long arm quilting or not, this was a fun quilt to make. I've already cut some focus fabric to make another one.

Now I would think she would like this - I think it just wonderful! Lots of eye appeal with color and pattern of the scrappiness. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteBright, bold and colorful. I love it. It's an original. Some child is going to LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI think people like different things. Some people like order, balance and symmetry. Some like quilts that are all shades of tan, cream and brown.
You embrace color and individuality. You are not afraid to try new things. You are an artist. You go girl!
What a wonderful, colorful quilt!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bold and beautiful quilt! I really like all the colors and some little one will be very happy to receive it!
ReplyDeleteI really LOL when I heard what your daughter said! My Mom said that to me when she first saw mine! We all like different things. I think it is absolutely wonderful! The colors are perfect! The recipient of the quilt will LOVE it! Thanks for linking up and sharing! Good luck in the Giveaway!

ReplyDeleteLove the cheerful colors!
ReplyDeleteIt's a scrappy delight! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt came together so nicely. Before you wrote about each block not being the same, I tried to see if any were and then I read the post. Love the bright colors and that you didn't cut into any other fabrics for this. That's always a plus.
ReplyDeleteThat is one happy quilt! Perfect for the occasion.
